OS Project Introduction
What we focused on the OS project was observing the simulation and doing analysis of the data in order to deeply understand each of schedule policy and paging. We totally included three data files in the simulation. The first one is called original one which included process size, priority and so on. After adding to the file into the simulation, we started to change different CPU numbers, different scheduling methods, and selecting paging or non-paging. Based on changing these different variables, the output of the data would be different.(file two and three have different processes sizes and priorities) What we did is to collect all of these different data and do analysis.(Built in Summer 2012)
Distributed Computing Projects Introduction
We built two separate projects in this course. The first one is using UDP protocol and the second one is using TCP/IP protocol and UDP to create peer-to-peer paradigm.(Built in fall 2012)
- UDP Protocol: In the part one, we were using UDP protocol to create a connection among the client, router and server side. Using this connection to pass music files or AV files from the server side to the client side.
- TCP/IP Protocol: In the part two, we were using UDP protocol to create a connection between two routers, and to use TCP/IP protocol to create a direct connection between two clients so as to pass music or AV files between two clients.
